Contemporary Cheshire Pond Garden Design by Kirman Design: Client Brief
The Brief:
To design a garden that was to be mainly viewed from within the house. The garden was to feature water along with structural elements such as rocks and trees. The client informed us that they would like to lightly borrow from Japanese landscape garden styles but have a unique space in its own right. A bold statement garden with colour and interest was also key.
The Garden:
The result was a space that features a large L-shape pond with floating granite bridges surrounded by borders of colourful low maintenance planting. Granite was a key material in the build along with a darker porcelain cladding. A waterfall sat at the upper end of the pool with distinctive granite backdrop. This was the main view from the lounge window and featured planting set to the left-hand side and pool continuing off to the right. Other views such as from within the kitchen focused on the hand selected specimen acer trees and large boulders.
