Southport Flower Show 'Kuro': Client Brief

The garden this year is actually two in one. The first is a dark urbanised, simple space set within water with minimal planting and dominating structural elements. A porcelain pathway leads through a sunken firepit area up to a cube shape building.

‘The Cube’ is a secondary space accessed through a single doorway creating a totally separate environment. The idea attempts to explore how to create a zone closed off from the surrounding world within an urbanised garden that someone could go to disconnect, contemplate or relax.

The Brief:

To create a contemporary garden using the theme of the show: 'The Curious Garden' and use products which the sponsor C&W Berry supply (porcelain, aggregate and fencing).
