Southport Flower Show 'Kuro': The Design
Southport Flower Show 'Kuro': The Design. The theme for Southport Flower Show for 2017 is ‘Curious’, and after the success of the previous year's garden we came up with a garden which is actually two in one. The first is a dark urbanised, simple space set within water with minimal planting and dominating structural elements. A porcelain pathway leads through a sunken firepit area up to a cube shape building.
‘The Cube’ is a secondary space accessed through a single doorway creating a totally separate environment. The idea attempts to explore how to create a zone closed off from the surrounding world within an urbanised garden that someone could go to disconnect, contemplate or relax.
